We’ve arrived at the seventh and final chakra in this Songs, Stories & Synchronicity series — the Crown Chakra — the energy center of divine connection, soul purpose and spiritual surrender.
To me, there’s no better song to represent this chakra than “The Skye Boat Song,” adapted by Bear McCreary, the haunting melody that opens every episode of “Outlander.” But more than the theme of the show, it’s the lyric “over the sea to sky” that really captures the essence of this chakra.
It feels like a soul being lifted beyond the horizon and far past the visible world — crossing oceans of time into the embrace of something greater.
✨ That’s what the Crown Chakra does: it helps us surrender to the mystery and remember we are part of the infinite.
When I hear this song, I get chills — as if it stirs something ancient in me. Maybe you feel that too?
The melody calls us upward and inward at the same time. It’s like a lullaby for the soul… and a call to awaken something beyond logic.
The story of Outlander mirrors this beautifully. Claire doesn’t just fall through time — she follows a knowing, a pull from beyond. That’s what the Crown Chakra often feels like: a tug from the Universe that says, “You’re not alone. You came here for a reason.”
💜 Here’s a Journaling Prompt for Your Crown Chakra:
“Where in your life do you feel the call to surrender — to trust what you can’t see but deeply sense? And what might happen if you followed it?”
And are you a fan of “Outlander” like I am? What stirs in you when you hear “The Skye Boat Song?” Does that lyric “over the sea to sky” speak to a deeper part of you, too?
I’d also love to know if you see synchronicities in songs too and if you’ve enjoyed this series. What was your favourite song this week?
