Some songs don’t just tell a story — they open a portal.

And “Starry Starry Night (Vincent)” by Don McLean does just that.

It’s more than a tribute to Vincent Van Gogh — it’s a spiritual anthem for the sensitive, intuitive souls who see the world through the lens of imagination, emotion and inner knowing.

This is Third Eye territory and today’s Song, Story & Synchronicity.

🎨 Van Gogh wasn’t just painting what he saw — he was painting what he felt. He was expressing what couldn’t be said aloud, what went misunderstood in his lifetime. His art was pure intuition and expression. And this song captures that essence:

“They would not listen, they did not know how / Perhaps they’ll listen now…”

You can almost feel the ache of being unseen — and yet, the exquisite gift of being able to see so much.

🌀 Third Eye Themes in the Song:

• Intuitive knowing: Van Gogh “saw” beauty others overlooked — sunflowers, night skies, everyday faces.
• Spiritual loneliness: Feeling unseen or unappreciated when you’re tapped into a deeper truth.
• Imagination as survival: When reality hurts, we create visions that sustain us.
• Art as soul expression: When you can’t say what you feel, you paint it, write it, or sing it.

✨ A couple of years ago, I visited the immersive Van Gogh exhibit in Vancouver. His paintings were projected onto massive walls around me — as if I were walking through his mind. Swirls of color, sorrow, beauty and light… I felt what he must have felt: too much, too deeply — and yet, so magnificently.

That’s the gift of the Third Eye chakra:

It lets you see with your soul.

But it also comes with a price — many intuitives and creatives feel isolated, misunderstood, or overwhelmed by their own sensitivity.
Still, it doesn’t have to break us. That same sensitivity is also a profound gift.

Did you get a chance to see the Van Gogh exhibit when it was on tour? I’d love to know what it stirred in you.

💜 Here’s a Journaling Prompt for Your 3rd Eye: “What do you see or sense that others may not? And how can you honor it instead of hiding it?”

Let yourself write freely. You might be surprised by what comes through.

Let this song be your inspiration and permission slip to feel, imagine and express without apology.

You don’t have to be understood by everyone.

You only need to trust what your Third Eye already knows.
