It’s my turn to have another birthday and I’m so grateful that I’m healthy and happy and still here! This past year was one of the best in a long time and here’s to keeping the positive momentum going well into the future!

I’ve come a long way and I thought I’d share some words of wisdom that I’ve recently embraced – maybe you’ll agree with my philosophy, maybe not – but either way, I hope my insights give you something to think about.

  1. Express your feelings (rather than trying to stuff them down, ignore, numb or hide them) because otherwise they’ll show up again, this time 2 point 0.
  2. Look within yourself first for love, security, guidance etc. (rather than outside of yourself in the external world)
  3. Be kind, generous and loving towards yourself and others as if you were tending a garden to help it grow and thrive
  4. Do some self-care every day to practice simultaneous giving and receiving and to feel better overall
  5. Make yourself your first priority in your own life and then you’ll have more to give others
  6. Trust energy more than appearances because energy always tells the truth
  7. What you drip feed into your subconscious mind will show up in your physical reality as synchronicities (so be mindful of what you eat, drink, talk about, focus on, spend time and money on, and who you hang out with)
  8. People will reflect and mirror aspects of you back to you (positive and negative) but don’t shoot the messenger – they’re actually giving clues about who you are
  9. Having a spiritual practice doesn’t necessarily eliminate challenges, but it does make getting through them and life in general much easier
  10. We’re taught “bigger, better, faster, more” but the road to enlightenment is about releasing, healing, simplifying, slowing down, cleaning up and clearing away everything that is false, holding us back, clouding our vision, weighing us down, blocking our path and is in the way of our thriving
  11. The big test of humanity is how close we keep to the Golden Rule – “Treat others as you would want them to treat you” and “Love your neighbour as yourself”
  12. Sooner or later, the scales of Divine Justice will be balanced again.

I know what’s going on in the world seems crazy these days and I have compassion for those who are suffering – I’m just not going to let the negativity overtake me and pull me down with it.

Last I checked, I’m free to think and feel as I please so I’m choosing to enjoy my life no matter what else is going on and this is what I’ve figured out so far.

Sending you peace and blessings, Maria
