by Maria Koropecky, Storytelling Coach & Author

Hey there, it’s Maria! I hope you’re enjoying this sunny Saturday in May as much as I am. I’ve got some exciting updates and good news to share with you.

First off, I’m still buzzing from the author’s event at the Greater Victoria Public Library. Remember back in October 2023 when I submitted my book, “Closer to Indigo,” for consideration in their local emerging author’s collection?

Well, guess what? They accepted it! Now, my book is available in both paperback and ebook formats. It’s surreal to see something I poured my heart into sitting on library shelves. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity.

But the journey doesn’t stop there. My next big step? Recording “Closer to Indigo” for Audible. I’ve found a studio, and this week, I’ll be diving into recording sessions—four days, three hours each. I’m both nervous and excited to narrate my own story.

It’s funny how life comes full circle. Remembering my struggles with reading aloud in school, I never imagined I’d willingly step into the world of voice narration. But here I am, ready to put my acting chops to the test.

Recording won’t be a straightforward read-through, though. My book includes snippets in different languages and even some musical elements. Yes, you heard that right—I’ll be singing! It’s going to be quite the adventure.

From Amazon to the library and now Audible, it feels like my book is truly going places. And let’s not forget about my TV series, “Saanich: Emerging Land, Emerging People,” where I share snippets from “Closer to Indigo.” I’m milking every opportunity, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it.

If you have any tips or advice on voice narration, I’m all ears! Feel free to drop me a message.

And if you’d like to make a donation towards my recording fees, I’d really appreciate it. Here’s a secure link to my tip jar if you’d like to contribute to my artistic endeavors. Thanks for your generosity and this lovely energy exchange!

And thanks for joining me on this journey. Talk to you soon!

Keep shining your light!
Maria
