What do you do when you’re feeling stressed?

I tend to eat my feelings, stuffing them down, trying to comfort myself with food.

This year, I’ve been feeling more stressed than usual and have been working through some challenges and hardships. As a result of eating all of these extra calories and not burning them off, I’ve gained weight – quite a few pounds – which has also added to my stress.

So last month, I decided enough is enough! I’m getting back on that fitness horse! No more excuses!

My goal is to get back to my Camino fitness level, where I was able to walk 20K a day with a full back pack, up and down mountains, across Spain.

The thing is, I don’t really have the time to go to the gym to workout, as much as I enjoy fitness training.

So I came up with an idea, well more like an experiment. Have you heard of “mental practice” or “mental rehearsal?”

It’s this incredible technique where you use your imagination rather than your physical body to improve a skill or do a task. It’s like playing a mental movie in your head, visualizing every little detail, feeling, and emotion related to the skill you want to improve.

Athletes, musicians and surgeons have been using mental rehearsal, visualization, meditation and the power of their imagination to get to the top of their game and even Dr. Joe Dispenza reconstructed his spine in his mind, so I figured I might try shaving off a few extra pounds of body weight without going to the gym, all in the workshop of my imagination.

It’s all about telling a new story while being in a relaxed state! Hello new Neuropathways!

So, for the last few weeks, I’ve been doing a workout in my mind’s eye while falling asleep. I’m lifting weights, doing crunches and push-ups and even planks all in my head!

And guess what!? It’s working! I’m feeling and looking slimmer!

Whaaattt?

Yes! My progress is showing! I’m actually using the power of my imagination to get in shape! Plus I’m feeling more relaxed.
