As the world has been watching Ukrainians defend their freedom with such heart and strength, we’ve also seen the outpouring of prayers, songs, supplies and donations heading to Ukraine with great velocity as well.

It warms my heart to see people from all across the world stand for Ukraine and for world peace during these challenging times and I’m so grateful. I know the Ukrainian spirit will live on!

I’ve been thinking about what I can do from my home in Canada to help support my extended family, too.

I’ve realized that sharing our personal stories is one way that can keep our energy up. It may sound odd but stories about our own experiences and the characters in our family line are what keep our names and hearts alive in the grand scheme of things.

When we share our stories, we share our humanity.

  • Storytelling and writing are powerful agents of peace and love.
  • Storytelling is a space-time-travelling machine that transcends generations.
  • Storytelling connects us and creates empathy and compassion among strangers.
  • Storytelling shows us that even through all of our diverse points of view and seemingly mundane day-to-day experiences, we are all more alike than different.

If you have your own stories that you’d like to write down and share with others but don’t know where to start, please reach out to me. Storytelling and writing are my specialties and it’s part of my life’s purpose to encourage people to raise their voices, write from their heart and build more bridges that connect us together.

Who knows… your words might inspire someone else in the future. Your words might just be exactly what someone else needs to hear during their darkest hour. Your story is your gift.

I’m starting a new writing coaching program called, Creative Writing to Unlock & Release the Artist that is You on Monday, March 21, 2022 for anyone who is a writer or wannabe writer and I’d love for you to join us!
