The word “serendipity” was coined by Horace Walpole in 1754. He found the word in the Persian fairy tale, “The Three Princes of Serendip,” which was about three princes who always stumbled upon good discoveries while on their adventures without looking for them.
I love being in that space where things just show up for me as I need and want them! To me, whenever I experience serendipity, I feel life is smiling at me and I am on the right path.
And it happened again on Sunday!
To give you a little backstory, I’ve been working on my TV series, Saanich: Emerging Land; Emerging People for the past few months and have been enjoying the creative process of taking an idea and turning my vision into something bigger than myself that I can share with others.
I’m happy to say that last week, I met my first deadline. I uploaded the 1st 2 episodes of my art project to Storyhive for review and by putting my work out there, even on a small scale, I really feel like a crossed a threshold and entered new territory. Things are really opening up for me.
So on Sunday, I went to church even though I wasn’t planning to. Afterwards, we went downstairs for coffee, something we haven’t done for 2 years because of the pandemic.
Soon, a gentleman approached my table and asked to sit next to me and I said, “sure” and guess who he was – the Mayor of Saanich himself!
That’s serendipity – he showed up out of the blue without me looking for him.
I told him about my TV series, Saanich: Emerging Land; Emerging People and he gave me his card and now he’s going to contribute! So cool! It just happened so smoothly. Just like that!
So in the spirit of serendipity, I’d like give you your own moment and invite you to a free workshop called, “How to Find the Time, Energy & Ideas to Write Your Stories.”
This workshop is for you if recently said, “I’d like to write a book someday…” Consider reading this post as your sign – your “someday” is on the horizon!
Here’s the link to register on Eventbrite. I’m looking forward to seeing you in the Zoom Room on Thursday!
