Last Friday night, I went out on the town with my friend Elaine, who invited me to join her and her husband for a gala at the world-famous Empress Hotel!
I was so thrilled to have the chance to get dressed up and step into my feminine energy, and I marveled at how everything came together for a lovely evening of conversation, music and connection.
With a little over a week to prepare, I immersed myself in self-care rituals to help me shine.
I started with a fresh haircut that made my white hair gleam! I’m so glad I got my eyebrows threaded too—it felt like the perfect finishing touch.
Choosing my flowing green dress was easy, and I was delighted to pair it with my bright orange heels, a nod to my sacral chakra, the home of creativity and femininity, and to the upcoming Orange Shirt Day in honor of First Nations here in Canada.
I treated myself to a vibrant fuchsia-red mani-pedi, and for my perfume, I chose Ylang Ylang. With its sensual and floral notes, it just says “fun, flirty and feminine” to me.
To top it all off, I wore my favorite crystal necklace—rose quartz with pink, orange, green and purple gems—to help me rise to the occasion.
There’s something about doing your best to look and feel your best that transforms an evening into something truly special. From the glamorous gown to my favorite crystals, I felt like the Empress herself.
I’m so grateful to Elaine for inviting me, to her husband Chuck Rose for serenading us into the night, and to the First Nations for giving the evening a spiritual start with their stories, chanting and drums.
I loved having the chance to express both my femininity and my spirituality, and with Tuesday’s Full Moon, I’m reminded how every now and then, it’s fun to light up the night sky. 🌕✨
